The artist will discuss her body of work Labour, with a particular focus on bringing together speculative narratives with embodied knowledge.
While Labour is an ongoing series of single-channel documentary video installations, it is, when exhibited, always accompanied by Matricial Decree – a document bridging the footage on display and a fictional world questioning the patriarchal present. The serial structure of the work allows for a recurring space to stress the pervasive struggle for reproductive justice.
