Together with contemporary German-speaking poets, students—under the guidance of Lea Schneider—discussed various questions about the canon, its composition, and the necessity of radically personal archives. Based on this work, the anthology “Alternative Archive. Acht Gedichtgespräche” has now been published by hochroth Verlag.

A New Release in our WorldLiteratures series: Vol. 25 entitled “Mobile Avantgarden”

“Mobile Avantgarden”, the 25th band in our WorldLiteratures series, has been published by DeGruyter. The anthology, edited by Jutta Müller-Tamm and Sylwia Werner, is dedicated to forgotten avant-garde and modernist movements in northern and eastern Europe.

Graduate School

The doctoral students can rely on an excellent infrastructure. They are part of an international and interdisciplinary network of research and teaching, and can put together a tailormade program from the Graduate School’s offers to support their project.

Partnerships

For doctoral students, an international research stay is an integral part of the curriculum, supported by a dedicated travel expense budget. Doctoral students and academics from our partner universities are invited to conduct research at the FSGS and collaborate with us in organizing events.

Events

Together with postdocs, PIs, and guests at the Graduate School, doctoral students organize up to 20 events per year. They develop concepts, send out invitations, and facilitate discussions. Administrative support is provided by the management team and the board.

Publications

Selected dissertations and conference proceedings are published in the Graduate School’s Weltliteraturen / World Literatures series—but that’s not the only way our scholars showcase their work. Our literary studies blog fosters discussion, inviting everyone to comment and engage.
