Kommentar:
We will review recent publications addressing the issue of abstract semantic processing in the mind and brain. Theoretical questions about the theoretical feasibility of underlying semantic theories will be addressed along with empirical issues regarding the consistency of individual theories with data sets recently reported. The seminar will offer the opportunity to discuss ongoing research. New results from the Brain Language Laboratory of the FU Berlin will be presented and discussed. The Seminar will also host talks by visiting researchers. Recommended reading: Pulvermüller, F. (2013). How neurons make meaning: Brain mechanisms for embodied and abstract-symbolic semantics.
