Die Einführungsveranstaltung für Studienanfänger*innen im BA-Studiengang Englische Philologie findet statt am
Montag, den 5. Oktober, von 16 bis 18 Uh
in Hörsaal 1b (Habelschwerdter Alle 45, 14195 Berlin)

Das Institut wird sich kurz mit seinen verschiedenen Schwerpunkten (Literaturwissenschaft, Sprachwissenschaft, Cultural Studies, Mediävistik, Fachdidaktik) vorstellen; dies wird ergänzt durch die Vorstellung des Bereichs Englisch im Sprachenzentrum der Freien Universität Berlin. Im Zentrum der Veranstaltung steht die Einführung in das Studium der Englischen Philologie: Das schließt einen allgemeinen Überblick über die Struktur des Studiengangs und den Studienverlaufsplan, die Module und Lehrveranstaltungen, Lehr- und Prüfungsformen ebenso ein wie konkrete Hinweise zur Planung des ersten Semesters, Kursbuchung und Gestaltung des Stundenplans.

Lehrende des Instituts, die studentischen Tutor*innen und die Fachschaftsinitiative stehen für Nachfragen zur Verfügung.

The Welcome and Information event for first-year students on the BA programme “English Philology” will take place on

Monday, 5 October, 4-6 p.m.

in Lecture Hall 1b (Habelschwerdter Alle 45, 14195 Berlin)

The event will offer a brief introduction to the various areas of specialisation at the Institute (Literary Studies, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, Medieval Studies, Didactics) and of the English section at the Language Centre of Freie Universität Berlin. This will be followed by a general overview of the structure of the BA-programme and the study plan, including information on modules, courses and examinations, as well as specific advice on planning your first semester, booking courses and organising your timetable.

Lecturers from the Department, student tutors and the student representatives will be present to answer your questions.

in Raum KL32/102 (Habelschwerdter Allee 45, 14195 Berlin)

Die Veranstaltung bietet eine allgemeine Einführung in die Ziele und die Struktur des Master-Studiengangs, Module und Lehrveranstaltungen sowie Lehr- und Prüfungsformen und gibt konkrete Hinweise zur Planung des ersten Semesters und zur Kursbuchung über Campus Management. Dies wird durch Informationen zu den Bibliotheken der Freien Universität sowie zum studentischen Leben am Institut ergänzt.

Lehrende sowie studentische Vertreter*innen werden für Nachfragen zur Verfügung stehen.

Thursday, 8 October 2026, 10-12 a.m.

in room KL32/102 (Habelschwerdter Allee 45, 14195 Berlin)

This event will offer information on the aims of the programme and the structure of the programme, the modules and courses, forms of teaching and examinations. More practical questions will also be covered, such as how to plan the first semester or how to book courses via Campus Management. This will be complemented with information on the libraries of the university as well as student life at the department.

Members of the teaching staff and student representatives will be available to answer your questions.
