What are the fantasies that sustain our ideas about reality and the natural order? What occurs when these fantasies lose their grounding in living traditions? What forces move us toward or against change, and what might these transformations bring about? As the Valeska Gert Visiting Professor, Saar Magal collaborated with the students to develop a performance research presentation inspired by the Book of Genesis and drawing on a diverse range of literary works. Through the deconstruction of myths and narratives from both ancient and contemporary texts within the three Abrahamic traditions, Magal and the students explore and embody how these stories both shape and reflect societal transformations.
