Tobias Wieland is a philosopher, post-doctoral researcher, and academic coordinator at FU Berlin. One of his research strands focuses on German Idealism, particularly Hegel, and secondly, on contemporary critical theory, the various forms of feminism, and decolonial theory. He obtained a PhD in philosophy in 2021. In his dissertation, "Die Pluralität des Absoluten. Hegels Theorie sozialen Wandels," he argues that the good, the beautiful, and the true can only be conceived in a pluralistic fashion (Vittorio Klostermann, 2022). In 2020, he co-authored a book on Hegel's philosophy of religion with Georg Bertram titled "Wenn Gott nicht wäre…" (Reclam).
In addition to his focus on critical theory, he works at the intersection of theory and artistic research, both within and beyond the academic institution He leads workshops at IKSK-Berlin, contributing to the broader context of pleasure activism and body research. Embracing life as an experiment, he resides at the crossroads of amorous polyphony.

Tobias Wieland’s research is rooted in Critical Theory, with a particular emphasis on German Idealism, especially the philosophy of Hegel. His work engages contemporary challenges in social and political philosophy through critical dialogue with traditions of intersectional and sex-positive feminism, decolonial thought, and critical race theory.
Wieland investigates the transformative capacities of aesthetics and artistic practices, positioning artistic research as a crucial site for social critique and the production of alternative forms of knowledge. His approach integrates theoretical analysis with attention to embodied, historically situated experiences, aiming to bridge canonical philosophical traditions with the demands of contemporary emancipatory struggles.
