Mit dem Titel „New Horizons“ findet am 22. Februar der 10. Karrieretag für Promovierende statt. Organisiert wird die Veranstaltung von Promovierenden der Berlin University Alliance. Ziel des Karrieretags ist es, Promovierende mit Menschen in Kontakt zu bringen, die seit Jahren im Berufsleben stehen. In insgesamt sechs World Cafés zu den Themen „Research and Development“, „Self-employment“, „Comunication“, „Sustainability & Environmental Engagement“, „Information & Computer Science“ sowie einem thematisch offenen World Cafe geben Referentinnen und Referenten aus verschiedenen Branchen und Lebensbereichen Einblick in ihre Berufslaufbahnen und Berufsfelder und berichten über Einstiege, Umstiege, Hürden, Chancen und Herausforderungen im Arbeitsalltag. Die Promovierenden können in kleinen Gruppen Fragen stellen und auf diese Weise die eigenen Karriereziele schärfen und konkrete Schritte planen. Zudem gibt es zwei mit Expertinnen und Experten besetzte Round Table Diskussionen zu den Themen „Academic career or why not?“ und „Transition to the non-academic labor market“. Die Veranstaltungssprache ist Englisch.

Entitled "New Horizons", the 10th Career Day for doctoral candidates will take place on February 22. The event is organized by doctoral candidates of the Berlin University Alliance. The goal of the Career Day is to bring doctoral candidates into contact with people who have been in professional life for years. In a total of six World Cafés on the topics of "Research and Development," "Self-employment," "Communication," "Sustainability & Environmental Engagement," "Information & Computer Science," as well as a thematically open World Cafe, speakers from various industries and walks of life will provide insights into their careers and professional fields and report on starting, changing, hurdles, opportunities, and challenges in everyday work. The doctoral candidates can ask questions in small groups and in this way sharpen their own career goals and plan concrete steps.
