Greek language and literature

The Greek language and literature faculty of the Institute conduct research and teaching activities in the Greek language and in Greek-language literature, philosophy, and culture from antiquity to the present day, tracing the influences of these areas on the non-Greek-speaking world. The Institute is home to three chairs: one each for Classical Greek Studies, Byzantine Studies, and Modern Greek Studies.
