Profile:

Effy completed a Bachelor's in Theoretical Linguistics at the University of Athens, an Erasmus Mundus M.Sc. in Clinical Linguistics at the Universities of Groningen (NL), Potsdam (DE), and Eastern Finland (FI). She then obtained her Ph.D. in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Universities of Groningen, Potsdam, and the Charité Medical University in Berlin. Her primary research interests included the processing of semantic and phonological aspects of language in people with and without brain tumors. Effy is worked on electrocorticographic recordings during awake brain surgery (ECoG), lesion symptom mapping analyses, and modelling simulations with brain constrained neural networks.
