• An outline of the dissertation project (8-10 Pages)
• A workplan and timetable
• A table showing relevant activities and experience related to the doctoral program
• Resume/CV
• Certificates of all previously acquired academic degrees (certified copies)
• Letter(s) of recommendation
• Proof of proficiency in German, Minimum level: TestDaF Level B1

Language Certification (German)

In order to demonstrate proof of German skills, the following certificates are considered equivalent to the German Language Examination for University Entrance (DSH 2):

• TestDaF (TDN 4 in all four parts)
• Advanced Level Examination (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung, ZOP) from Goethe Institute
• Successful completion of a German language course at the student’s home university
• Other education that corresponds to a German higher education entrance examination

Language Proficiency (Englisch)

For English language proficiency, achievement of leven B2 GER (or equivalent):

• IELTS 5.0
• Cambridge Examinations: First Certificate (FCE); Advanced (CAE); Proficiency (CPE)
• TOEFL: Paper 500, Computer 170 or Internet 80
