Studienabschlussberatung - Endspurt!
Consultation for Degree Completion – The Final Push! (Endspurt! )
The Consultation for Degree Completion at the Department of Philosophy and Humanities called “Endspurt!” (“The Final Push!”) offers tailored and subject-specific guidance for the final phase of your degree programme.
This initiative combines academic advising within the institutes and interdisciplinary programmes with targeted workshops, training sessions and writing groups specifically designed for the final stretch of your studies. Our aim is to support students to systematically plan, organise and shape their individual paths towards completion of their degrees. At the same time, we provide practical strategies and tools to help overcome common challenges in the humanities – especially academic writing of a term paper or a final thesis.
Recognising degree completion to be more than a merely academic hurdle, we also bring together various existing services at Freie Universität Berlin – such as first points of contact for career guidance or studying with a child.
At the Institute for English Language and Literature, this role is taken on by Prof. Dr. Antje Wilton.
Antje Wilton is Professor of English Sociolinguistics at the Institute for English Language and Literature. Her teaching and research areas include sociolinguistics with a focus on multilingualism and English as a lingua franca, (applied) conversation analysis, social interaction analysis, multimodality and space, as well as discourse analysis with a focus on public, political and media communication. She also regularly teaches courses in forensic linguistics. With 20 years of experience in higher education, she has been advising and supporting students across a wide range of degree programmes.
