Visiting doctoral candidates do not receive a scholarship from the Graduate School as they remain doctoral students at the Graduate School’s partner universities. They can enroll at Freie Universität Berlin and take advantage of the university’s and the Graduate School’s offers. They are provided with an appropriate work space.

Visiting doctoral candidates participate in Graduate School events and can organize events and invite guests together with members of the Graduate School. They present their dissertation projects in the Graduate School’s colloquia.
