The Publishing Process: Strategies for Navigating Journals and Peer Review
Are you eager to see your research published but unsure where to start? This workshop walks you through the entire academic publishing process from identifying suitable journals and writing a query letter to submitting your paper and going through the peer review process.
Content
We'll cover how to identify the right journal for your work—considering factors like target audience, journal reputation, impact, and open access options. You'll learn how to craft compelling query letters and tailor your manuscript to meet specific journal styles and expectations. The workshop also dives into the submission process, including what to include in your cover letter (if you need to write one) and how to navigate online submission portals. You'll also learn about the peer review process. We'll look into how reviewers assess your manuscript, how to interpret their comments, and how to revise and resubmit your work effectively. You'll gain strategies for writing clear, constructive response letters and handling rejection constructively.
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion, providing you with the confidence and tools to advance your publication goals.
