Hotels 

• Seminaris Campus Hotel - this hotel is closest to campus. 
• Hotel Steglitz International - this hotel is a few bus stops from campus. 
• Pension Der Kretaner - two subway stops from campus, more budget friendly, please note that this is not a hotel, meaning there are no breakfast options, no designated reception and rooms are more basic.

How to get to the venue 

Arriving by Berlin public transport

The Silberlaube of Freie Universität can be reached with the underground line U3 (Dahlem-Dorf stop, 10 min. walk to the main entrance of the Silberlaube), the express bus X11, and the metro bus M11 (Hittorfstraße stop).

A route overview and further information on buses and trains in Berlin can be found at Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (www.bvg.de). There you can also find online timetable information that calculates the route to your destination and buy tickets.

Arrving by train 

From Berlin Central Station (Berlin Hauptbahnhof):

The easiest way to get to Rost- und Silberlaube: Take the S-Bahn (towards Alexanderplatz, Ostkreuz, Schönefeld, Ahrensfelde, Wartenberg, Erkner) to Friedrichstraße, then change to the S1 towards Wannsee, Potsdam. The S1 platform is located in the basement of the station. Take the S1 to Lichterfelde-West. Leave the station in the direction of Drakestraße. There, change to the M11 or X11 bus in the direction of Dahlem-Dorf and travel to the Hittorfstraße stop. You will find yourself in front of the main entrance on Habelschwerdter Allee. (Travel time: approx. 36 min)

A faster option is to take the Deutsche Bahn RB (towards Nauen) or the S-Bahn (towards Potsdam, Spandau, Westkreuz) to Zoologischer Garten station, then the U2 (towards Pankow) to Wittenbergplatz, then the U3 (towards Krumme Lanke) to Dahlem Dorf, followed by a 10-minute walk to the Silberlaube. (travel time approx. 30 min)

Arriving by plane

From Berlin-Brandenburg BER Airport: There are various options for traveling from BER Airport to Freie Universität Silberlaube. Three of them are listed here.

• From BER (Terminal 1-2) walk to the airport train station (approx. 5–6 min walk from the terminal) and take the S9 towards Spandau Station to S + U Warschauer Straße. Change there to the U3 towards Krumme Lanke and travel to U Dahlem-Dorf.

→ Total travel time: approx. 60–65 minutes.

 

• From BER (Terminal 1-2) walk to the airport train station (approx. 5–6 min) and take the S45 towards S + U Hermannstraße. Change here to the S41 Ringbahn. At S + U Heidelberger Platz, change to the U3 towards Krumme Lanke and ride to U Dahlem-Dorf.

→ Total travel time: approx. 60 minutes.

 

• From BER (Terminal 1-2) walk to the airport train station (approx. 5–6 min) and take a regional or S-train (for example train 94162 towards Nauen) to S Zoologischer Garten. Change there to the U9 towards Rathaus Steglitz to U Spichernstraße, then change to the U3 towards Krumme Lanke to U Dahlem-Dorf (or alternatively to U Thielplatz / Freie Universität).

→ Total travel time: approx. 65–70 minutes.
