Semantics, Pragmatics & Neurolinguistics

The Neurolinguistics and Pragmatics division conducts research on a variety of topics, particularly in the areas of semantics, pragmatics, and neurolinguistics.

Research in the Brain Language Laboratory is overseen by Prof. Rosario Tomasello and conducted in collaboration with a variety of international colleagues.

Our courses focus on general and German linguistics, semantics, pragmatics, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and clinical linguistics. We offer introductory courses (modules) and seminars (intermediate and advanced seminars, tutorials, lectures) as well as a research colloquium for graduating students and doctoral candidates.

We regularly invite researchers from within Freie Universität Berlin as well as from other universities to give lectures on topics in neurolinguistics and pragmatics. Information about upcoming talks can be found here.
