LOOK@ME! KunstQuartier 2007 transformed various public locations in Berlin-Mitte, CityQuartier DomAquarée, the Cathedral of Berlin, the Spree promenade and Monbijoupark, into exhibition spaces. By contrasting young contemporary art (sculptures, objects, installations, video and light) with works already existing in public space, the exhibition displayed the nature of art works as autonomous yet site specific elements in the public sphere.
To foster dialogues between art and young visitors, and to provide access points for aesthetic experiences, ZAD developed a support program which mainly focused on arts education. The program’s goal was to engage young visitors in participation and in experiments with artistic forms and thus lay the foundations for a natural and creative dialog with art.
