Vita

Katharina Kim Alsen, born 1986, studied German / Scandinavian Literature and Linguistics, Theology and Philosophy in Hamburg, Copenhagen, Vienna and Reykjavík as a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. After graduating (MA equiv.) from University of Hamburg in 2011, she majored in Art History and Visual Culture at University of Oxford with a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service, obtaining her MSt degree in 2012. Her master’s theses dealt with contemporary practices of postdramatic theatre and the depiction of terror in the visual arts.

In October 2012, she started working on her Ph.D. project about intimacy as an aesthetic category in theatre and the arts as a fellowship holder of the International Research Training Group 'Interart Studies' at Freie Universität Berlin. Currently, she spends the academic year 2013/14 as a visiting researcher at the 'Doctoral School of Cultural Studies' at University of Copenhagen, funded by the German Research Foundation and a Danish Government Scholarship.
