Nation and Narration in Contemporary Tunisian Arabic Prose
Hanan Natour is a German-Palestinian PhD candidate at the Department of Arabic Studies supervised by Professor Beatrice Gründler and a project scholar at the Friedrich Schlegel Graduate School of Literary Studies (Free University of Berlin). Her current research project evolves from the field of modern Arabic literature with a particular focus on contemporary Tunisian Arabic prose. She graduated from the University of Oxford in 2018 with a Master of Philosophy in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and a master thesis entitled "Transcending the Nation: Dimensions of Postcolonial Tunisian Identity in the Poetry of Munṣif al-Wahāybī". She holds a Bachelor of Arts both in Arabic Studies and German Literature from the University of Göttingen (Germany) which included one year of studying abroad at the University of Paris-Sorbonne.
