Dr. Sven Thorsten Kilian

Vita

Sven Thorsten Kilian is a postdoctoral fellow at Freie Universität Berlin. He was trained in French Studies and Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin and at Université de Paris 8. He was appointed Assistant Professor at Potsdam University at the Romance Languages and Literatures Department, and lecturer for French studies at Freie Universität. He is a fellow of the thematic network “Principles of Cultural Dynamics” of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and was appointed Junior Research and Teaching Fellow in 2015/2016 at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.



His main research interests are narratives, drama and philosophy of the early modern period, aesthetic theories and 20th century narratives. He is currently working on a project entitled “Concepts of Text and Scripture in Early Modern Drama.”

He is the author of Die Szene des Erzählens. Ereignishaftes Sprechen in “Bagatelles pour un massacre,” “Guignol’s band” und “Féerie pour une autre fois” von Louis-Ferdinand Céline (München, 2012), editor of Stadtdispositive der französischen Literatur (Frankfurt/Main, 2013) and co-editor of the forthcoming DramaNet volume Poetics and Politics. Net Structures and Agencies in Early Modern Drama (2016).
