The doctoral course “Literary Studies” offers doctoral candidates with an above-average degree in a literary studies degree course (M.A. or equivalent) a structured research programme with intensive individual supervision of the thesis. Doctoral candidates take part in activities that support their research within their individual disciplines, at the same time placing this research in an interdisciplinary context. These activities include:
- Interdisciplinary research colloquia
- Seminars on methodology and literary theory
- Courses and workshops in the field of transferable skills
Besides, doctoral candidates may apply for funding of stays abroad, conference travels, guest invitations and own conferences.
The post-doctoral scholarships offer researchers with a doctoral degree the opportunity to focus on their own research within an excellent research context. PostDocs with own funding may apply for association. PostDocs, like doctoral candidates, are entitled to apply for travel expenses and funding of own events. We expect active cooperation.
German is the favoured working language in both programmes.
